What to expect: Casual and family-oriented, this moderately priced resort provides guests endless opportunities to have fun—and equal opportunities to be alone with the sun and the water.Â
Amenity highlights: Two pools offer sunning and swimming options. Nearest the beach is a large pool and sundeck—surrounded by thatch-roof palapas for shade—that serves as the water-activities center. Farther away from the beach is a figure 8-shaped "relaxation pool," where noise is minimal. The long, white-sand beach is ideal for strolling and people-watching.

The Buffet - This restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets and offers a coffee station all day. Weather permitting, a dinner buffet is also served outside, either by the pool or in front of the theater.
The Italian - Floral-print chairs, marble floors, and recessed ceilings painted with clouds create the perfect atmosphere for Italian fare. A la carte dinner only. Adults only. Reservations required. Dress code: Long pants for men.
The Mexican - Specializing in Mexican dishes, La Troje serves à la carte dinners only. Reservations required. Dress code: Long pants for men.
Pizzeria La Huerta - Located by the pool, this open-air eatery serves pizza all afternoon.Â
Snack Bar - Serves light snacks by the pool most of the afternoon.
Midnight Snack Bar - Serves late night light snacks poolside.
Fast Eddies - This sports bar features pool tables and televisions, and transforms into a disco for late night dancing.
Ambar Bar - Open evenings only with cocktails and drinks.
Aqua-Bar - Open from midmorning until after midnight.
Crystal Bar - Open from midmorning until midnight
Recreation
The majority of recreational activities and facilities described below are included in the room rate for this resort (scroll up to the All-Inclusive details section for more information).
Guests can enjoy days packed with activity because the multilingual resort staff keeps things humming with a wide array of games, contests, and water and land sports including kayaking, sailing, boogie boarding, and volleyball. Four soft-surface tennis courts allow for either day or night play. Guests can also use resort bicycles to tour around the Playacar and Playa del Carmen area (regulations apply).
The concierge desk can arrange tours to regional historic and tourist sites such as Tulum and Xel-Há, as well as fishing trips and scuba diving excursions, and golf games at area courses including the 18-hole Playacar Club de Golf (surcharges for all.)
